I saw the video of George Floyd.
Those last moments of his life, pleading for help and getting none, was sickening to watch. There's no easy answer going forward. But one thing is clear - perpetrators and abuse of power will not be tolerated. There is no going back. Murder charges are only the beginning, I'm afraid.
The movement is much bigger than a war between skin colours.
It's a historic moment akin to WWIII, in my humble opinion. It's a raging conflict among those with privilege and those without. The common struggle shared by people across the world, regardless of ethnicity or nationality. The many protests is a message - loud and clear - change is needed, people are suffering.
It's also a warning. Those who abuse power and cause harm - there is no hiding. Those who think they're untouchable live in a delusion.
With privilege, comes great responsibility....and serious consequences. That's what growing up in a democracy has taught me. Among other things.
On that note, a tribute to George Floyd.
In memory of what he stands for: Silence - No More
